The apex indigenous youth body in Rivers State under the aegis of Rivers State Youth Federation (RSYF) has passed a vote of confidence on Prof. Nelson Brambaifa, the acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) over what they described as his wonderful performance within the short period he has been on the saddle and appealed to the presidency to approve his appointment on permanent capacity.
Briefing the press on Thursday July 11, 2019 in Port Harcourt, the National President of the youth body, Senior Comrade Patrick Saviour observed that “since the inception of the present management of NDDC, a lot of landmark achievements have been recorded in the region which he noted has dwarfed those of his predecessors.
“The people oriented projects of the Ag Managing Director, the youth body noted, included road infrastructural development, human capital development, empowerment and medical outreach to the people of the region.
“The present management of the NDDC has also embarked on the payment of debts arrears owed contractors as well as the completion of abandoned projects littered in the federated nine stated” they declared.
RSYF whose motto is “the Vanguard of Peace” disclosed further that the present administration of Prof. Brambaifa has proven to be the best youth friendly one so far as according to them, the intervention agency has been carrying the youths along in their day-to-day activities.
To prove their point, the youth body has unanimously considered the Acting Managing Director for an Award of Excellence as well as its National Patron in appreciation of his performance, leadership qualities and youth friendly posture.
The youth body promised to decorate Prof. Brambaifa with the insigma of the award in an agreed later date.
They used the opportunity to call on the stakeholders of the Niger Delta to encourage and support the confirmation of the acting Managing Director's appointment for the region to continue benefitting from his wealth of experience.
