We Are Committed To Universal Health Care – RSG

Rivers State Government says it is Committed to establish Universal Health Care for all residents in the State.

 The State Deputy Governor, Dr. Mrs. Ipalibo Harry Banigo stated this at the 4th Quarterly Meeting of the State Task Force on Immunization and Primary Health Care at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Monday 14th October, 2019.

 The Deputy Governor who disclosed that our immunization indices has improved significantly, expressed the need for a re orientation of health workers to do more with counselling on young children and talk more about nutrition.

 According to her the incinerator to dispose of empty vaccine vials is now functional while an order to procure fire extinguishers for health facilities across the State has been placed.

 Dr. Banigo who harped on the need to put up the attitude of talking more about family planning to our clients all the time said “There is no reason why any teenager should get pregnant they should remain in school, get skills they should be ripe for marriage, so we need to talk more about these things”.

  She thanked members of the Task Force on Immunization and Primary Health Care for their dedication to serve the state and lauded the public enlightenment committee for their efforts.
