"We are all aware that the governor of Rivers State, Chief Barr Nyesom Wike, was shouting about SARS and nobody believed him. I'm also aware that President Buhari have disbanded SARS and the Inspector General of Police also said SARS should no longer exist.

“As a youth, I stand with you 100 per cent. Let me assure you that the only way you can achieve what you want is when you come together as one", he said.

Earlier, the spokesman of the protesters, Lukeson Oguchi Ejekwe said, "Despite our ONELGA black gold, the youths do not even stand one per cent chance to be employed in the multinationals here.

“The multinationals here are not even enacting the local content law of the federation.

The people representing us at both federal, state and local governments level have a form of racketeering. Some of these things are being given to them at the top but it doesn't get to the bottom".

The protesters chanted solidarity songs as the protest lasted.
