Ogbakiri Indigenes Laud Wike For Road Projects

…As Women Canvass For Market

The people of Ogbakiri in Emohua Local Government Area has commended Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for the flag off and construction of internal roads in Ogbakiri, otherwise known as Nwazina.

Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the flag off of Okporowo-Rumuoro-Oduoha internal roads (15km roads), the Chairman of Rumuoro Community Council, Prince Dr. Sam Edeh said Governor Wike and his team deserve commendation for the project because of the importance of roads towards development and progress of an area.

According to him, “The construction of road is such a huge issue for a people.  The bottom line is that it cost a lot to construct a road project, therefore, we the people of Ogbakiri commend Governor Wike for awarding and flagging of the construction of Ogbakiri internal roads”.

While stressing that the construction of the internal roads would not only attract investors but has given the people a sense of belonging, Prince Edeh said the project gives the people a feeling of government presence in the area.

The Chairman who described the project as historical and momentous, added that it had brought joy and happiness to the entire people of Ogbakiri.

On his part, a U.S. based son of the soil, Chief Eberechi Asuru said that having a network of road of any kind is better than not having any road at all.  He pleaded, “All sons and daughters of Ogbakiri should work together.  There is need for more unity and team work in this town”.

He stated that since he has not joined any political party, if he so decides, he would join a political party that in his words, “making progress in Ogbakiri”.

On his part, the CLO of Ogbakiri, Paulinus Obi Nmam said that he is sure that the contractors (GELD) would not only do a quality job but would also deliver on time.

“Governor Wike has given the contractor one year to complete the road.  I think GELD as a company or contractor would deliver on time”, Nmam assured.

On his part, Eze Samuel Igwenyia of Oduoha explained that before the flag off of internal roads at Ogbakiri by the Wike-led administration, the people of Ogbakiri have been neglected and alienated by successive administrations.

“Ogbakiri town has not had any infrastructural development until the massive flag off of internal roads in our area by Governor Wike”, he said, adding that the people of Ogbakiri need other social amenities such as electricity and pipe borne water.
