…Physical Planning Commissioner Also Supports Less Privileged In Asalga

Rivers State Urban Development and Physical Planning Commissioner, Barrister Osima Ginah on Friday extended relief materials to the people of Asari-Toru Local Government Area as they observe the State Government’s directive to sit-at-home.

The Commissioner also monitored the level of compliance of the stay-at-home directive of the State Government. He expressed happiness with the level of compliance.

The Commissioner distributed bags of rice , garri and beans to 13 wards. Fifteen ( 15 ) communities of Asari-Toru Local Government Area benefited from the relief materials.

The Commissioner said that the material was his support for the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike who was committed to ensuring that Rivers people are protected from coronavirus.

Ginah urged the people of Asari-Toru Local Government Area to cooperate with the State Government by respecting the sit-at-home directive. He said Governor Wike means well for Rivers people.

He said: “I have come to reach out to the less privileged in our local government area. What we are doing is on the basis of the directive of the State Government that we reach out to our people. “

The Commissioner for Urban Development and Physical Planning noted that he was in the local government area on behalf of Governor Wike.

He said that so far, coronavirus has been contained in the state because of the measures initiated by Governor Wike.  He advised the people of Asari Toru Local Government Area to continue to support the efforts of Governor Wike by obeying the state government’s directive.

Responding, beneficiaries of the relief materials thanked Barrister Osima Ginah and the Rivers State Governor for their commitment to the protection of Rivers people.

Chairman of Asari Toru Local Government Area, Odiari commended the commissioner for reaching out to the less privileged. He said that the relief materials will get to the less privileged, irrespective of party affiliation.

He said that the provision of relief materials at this time will help in preserving the people.

“Asari Toru Local Government Area appreciates you at this time. I am happy that you have said that this will be a regular affair. This is like a feedback system,” he said.

Grace Wokoma, a resident of Buguma thanked the Commissioner for reaching out to the people of the Local Government Area. She described him as a worthy representative.

Youth leader of Asari-Toru , George Ajo said the youths of the area are happy because Barrister Osima Ginah has helped them with relief materials which will sustain them during the lockdown.
