The Rivers State Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) under the auspices of Heads of families of CAN has condemned in strongest terms the purported election of the women wing conducted without regard to CAN’s constitution and guidelines.
In a release signed by the Heads of the five families, Msgr. Cyprian Onwuli, Most Rev D.B. Kaladokubo, Rev Dagogo Jack, Dr. S.O. Dimkpa and Rev Ignatius Onuoha after a crucial meeting held to that effect in Port Harcourt, the Christian Leaders said the House of God is a place where people come for correction and not an avenue for partisan politics.
The Heads of families who distanced themselves from the purported election warned all members to desist from using the association to achieve their wordily political aims as the law of the church will not fail to catch up with any offender.
The forum advised the Christian community to disregard any purported election of the women wing of the Association in the State, stressing that the election and inauguration of the wing will be held after a consensus peace meeting has been held.
