May 29, 2020: Bro Obuah Rates Gov Wike’s Performance High As He Completes First Year Of Second Term

Bro Felix Obuah, Sole Administrator, Rivers State Waste Management Agency, RIWAMA, says Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has enviably put the State back on the path of a robust economy by efficiently and responsibly managing public resources for the benefit of the people.

In his congratulatory message to His Excellency on his resoundingly successful one year of his second term in office, Bro Obuah noted there have been no dull moments within the period which according to him has been characterized by lots of monumental landmarks to show for his leadership skills.

The Sole Administrator of Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA) noted with enthusiasm the dexterity displayed by Governor Wike in handling the currently ravaging Coronavirus Pandemic to checkmate its spread in the State, describing it as highly commendable.

“This does not only smack of quality leadership but also confirms His Excellency’s uncompromising respect and value for human life and the lives of Rivers people in particular”, Bro Obuah observed.

He summed up Gov Wike’s first year of his second term as an admixture of prudent management of meager resources for the people’s welfare and infrastructural developments across the 23 local Government Areas of the State with three gigantic flyover bridges within the State capital, Port Harcourt, better equipped hospitals and health centres, improved public schools and enabling environment for quality education etc to show for his efforts.

“Your Excellency, we are indeed proud of your administration’s achievements in this one year especially in infrastructural development with majority of streets and roads in Port Harcourt and its environs reconstructed, a landmark that still sounds like magic to the doubting Thomases.

In road network across the State, you have proved you are a master planner as all the Local Government Areas in the State have all their headquarters linked to the State capital with good access roads within these areas and you are still reaching the unreached. The facelift you have given to the education sector as a whole is unprecedented.

At the primary and secondary level, it’s not only free education, but the pupils and students now study under a conducive atmosphere with qualified and well motivated teachers. The state scholarship scheme is now limited to areas of need while our local institutions are given the best assistance to catch up with international standards in relevant areas of study.

Under Your Excellency’s New Vision for Rivers State, the Revenue Base of the State has been broadened with greater transparency and accountability, a measure that has enabled you to launch the State back to the path of economic recovery and commitment by civil and public servants who are now paid their salaries regularly, and checkmating the ghost workers syndrome that had ravaged our resources for a long time.

Despite all your conquering developmental strides in all the sectors including the power and water resources, you have sufficiently demonstrated an enviable spirit of a democrat, strictly observing the principle of separation of powers between the executive arm and the other two arms of government namely: the judiciary and the legislature.

Your Excellency, the avalanche of your landmark achievements cannot be complete without mentioning your unrelenting efforts to restore the State capital, Port Harcourt, to its former Garden City status which you have demonstrated through visible commitment to reactivating the Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA) of which you graciously appointed me its Sole Administrator.

Through this Agency, the best of  Service Providers have been engaged who ensure the nooks and crannies of our State capital and its environs are ridden of dirts, provide receptacles and refuse bins on roads and streets and today, the outlook of Port Harcourt, the State capital, has tremendously changed for the better to the admiration of tourists, investors and residents courtesy Your Excellency”

Bro Obuah in the light of the aforementioned achievements and many more, expressed happiness that the PDP- ruling government under the leadership of Governor Nyesom Wike is delivering its mandate to the Rivers people as demonstrated through their massive vote for His Excellency in 2019.

He reassured his unalloyed support and commitment to the actualization of Gov Wike’s New Rivers Vision and wished him more breakthroughs in the years ahead.
